A Gobo projector is a light projector that shines a light through a small graphic of your choice. I chose the lettering "DM is an SP." I used the EZ Gobo because it's battery powered, small, and relatively cheap. You can get much more powerful systems, or even move up to laser projectors, but that's beyond me.
It's possible to make your own gobo (or here) too, saving even more money, but the professionally made ones are crisp and nice.
There can be legal issues using a Gobo, but I think in general as long as you are just pointing at a blank wall, there is no problem. After all, it's pretty much just shining a flashlight at a wall.
